Mom is Grounded!

Last night, Mom overdid it.

Auntie Mel gave her some plastic tubs so she could store stuff under her bed. Mom put the tubs under her bed and then couldn't get back up. Mom sent me to get Auntie Mel which I did. Auntie and I got Mom up onto the bed. Auntie told Mom to rest and take it easy for a bit.  Mom didn't rest for long enough though. She attempted to get out of  bed to get her pills and down she went. Mom sent me to get Auntie again and we got Mom back in bed. This time Mom listened and stayed there for longer.  When Mom attempted to get under the covers, down she went again! I got sent to get Auntie Mel again and again we got her back into bed. And in bed she stayed.

Today she has been ordered to take it easy and keep her cell phone with her at all times. She still insisted on bathing me (yuck) but she is not allowed to unpack any boxes, get down on the floor and she has to play with me from her chair in the yard, no walks.

Mom, you are grounded!!

The Longest Day of the Year!

Here's me cuddling with my cat, Count Fasie.
Today we are sharing our adventures with Ruffwear, to show them what we did for the summer solstice. Mom said, "Disabilities be damned, we are going to enjoy the solstice!!"
We began our day with some bed cuddling.

Then Mom and I went out for a morning walk. We use the Ruffwear Singletrak when the SoCal mornings are still cool so I get some extra exercise when Mom's endurance is down.

Then I got loaded into grandpa's car to help Mom run some errands.

Surprise Ruffwear! I'm also a service dog! Mom had to run some errands today so Grandpa and I were there to help her out. I love being a service dog.

After running errands, I got to visit my Uncle Nosh! Nosh is an old man and likes to play but he can't keep up with a spring chicken like me!

Then mom said, "Fibromyalgia be damned! We're going for a bike ride!" She's regretting those words now, she's pooped!

After my bike ride, I had to cool off in my pool. Mom passed out on her bed for a quick nap!

After some cool off time, it was play time again! My Auntie Melanie brought me home a new toy-a little boy! We played tug of war and fetch!

Playing fetch! Mom's cell phone video camera sucks!

Time to cool off again! That water is getting dirty Mom, you gotta clean my pool!

Here's me and Mom!
That's my cousin Rocky peeking out from behind Mom.

By the end of the day, I was pooped! Well Ruffwear, I hope you enjoyed our day!

Keeping Cool!

Here in sunny SoCal, I have to  find new ways to stay cool. So Mom ordered me my own pool to splash around in. I love it! But Mom doesn't like the dirty paw prints in the house.I also got a Ruffwear Swampcooler, courtesy of my buddy Dexter. Now I can stay cooler when Mom is up to taking longer walks. We will also be using it when we go to Universal Studios later this summer. Yay!!

Trying out my new pool!

The times they are a'changing, a fork in our road through life.

There have been some drastic changes in our life. Mom, Fasie, Lizzie and I moved down to Southern California. There have been some interesting changes in Mom's health and her relationships so we moved down here so Mom could save the remainder of her sanity. We are living with my Auntie Melanie and her pug Rocky. Mom has new doctors and a new therapist. I'm hoping this move helps Mom a lot. She seems sad though. Fasie and I don't like the heat. Lizzie doesn't care, she likes the heat.

Living here is very different. It is much warmer. But people know nothing about service dogs! The county is not in compliance with state law, people think I'm a guide dog, and they ask Mom lots of noisy questions. I got a new harness because I was cooking in my old one, it is just too hot. Here's me in my new  harness, have I mentioned how much I hate the camera? Rocky likes the camera!

To help with the heat, Mom has ordered me my own pool! I can't wait to spend hot days in my private pool! I don't think Rocky will splash in it with me.

There are more service dog teams in the Greater LA metro area. I hope we can meet up with them. Mom and I hope to visit Sonja and her furry pack in San Francisco later this summer.

A few days ago, Mom's lower back was hurting her so I helped her with the laundry.

We have wild tomatoes growing on the side of the house. Look how many we got picked in just a few minutes!
